The Federal Highway and KESAS roads back from Kuala Lumpur to Port Klang are routinely extremely congested in the late afternoon. To be safe, leave the city at least 3.5 hours before the cruise departs.
You need a vehicle even to reach the nearest commuter rail station to the pier (KTM Port Klang), so using Grab or hiring a private car for the day is much more efficient for cruise passengers.
